Our father, Charles C. Hansen III, believed in the mission of Doctors Without Borders. He made generous donations to this independent international organization that offers medical humanitarian assistance to people based solely on need, irrespective of race, religion, gender, or political affiliation.
We created this fundraiser as a meaningful way to help MSF respond to crises and emergencies, in celebration of our Dad's life and legacy of giving.
Examples of the impact your donation can make:
$20 = Treatments to cure 17 adult patients from malaria
$50 = 1 week of therapeutic food rations for 5 patients suffering from severe acute malnutrition
$100 = 7 kangaroo wraps for new mothers to maintain skin-to-skin contact with their new-born
$200 = Treatments to cure 5 patients of Hepatitis C without chronic liver damage
Over the past five decades, Doctors Without Borders has grown from a group of a few hundred volunteers to an international movement, providing over 10 million medical consultations in more than 70 countries every year. MSF's core values of humanitarianism, independence, neutrality, and impartiality continue to drive their work in providing life-saving aid to people whose survival is threatened by violence, neglect, or catastrophe, primarily due to armed conflict, epidemics, malnutrition, exclusion from health care, or natural disasters.
